Is a drip system cheaper than watering by hose?

Over a season it usually costs less to run, because drip irrigation delivers water at the root instead of losing it to spray, evaporation and run-off. It also stays usable when a hosepipe ban stops the hose entirely.

What actually moves the price

Total bed length

The main cost is metres of dripline. Long borders cost more than a couple of raised beds — nothing else scales as sharply.

Number of separate beds

Each run away from the tap needs its own feed line and connectors. Three scattered beds cost more than one large one of the same area.

Your tap flow rate

A slow tap means the garden is split into zones so every plant still gets pressure. That's why we measure before we quote.

Pots and planters

Containers take individual drippers rather than continuous pipe, added per pot.

Why bespoke instead of a boxed kit

An off-the-shelf kit is priced for an average garden that nobody owns. You end up cutting pipe, buying a second kit for the far border, or throwing away the half you didn’t need.
